This group will help to deliver practical conservation works across privately owned holdings and common land, primarily as part of the Culm Grassland Natural Flood Management Project.

The tasks involved in volunteering for the North Devon Natural Solutions team include:

  • Planting native trees across the Taw and Torridge catchments
  • Scrub management
  • Swaling Culm grassland habitats
  • Surveying
  • Seed harvesting
  • Leaky dams and brash bundles
  • Management of invasive, non-native Himalayan Balsam

All levels of ability are welcomed, as there are many different tasks that can be done. Some of the tasks will need to be done outdoors, possibly in poor weather conditions. All training in techniques and hand tool use will be provided.
