About the event

Join Buglife and Devon Wildlife Trust on this survey training session and gain the opportunity to learn how to identify and survey for this charismatic and rare ant species.

The Narrow-headed Ant is only known from one site in the whole of England, it is therefore important that we monitor the population. Come and join in this survey session to be a part of this vital monitoring to protect this Nationally Rare species.

No experience is needed, just come along and learn more about this wonderful ant!

Please wear long trousers and sturdy footwear. The survey will involve walking across uneven terrain and through dense scrub, a good level of fitness is therefore required. Please also bring water and a packed lunch.

This session has been kindly funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery Players, as part of Buglife's Moor Invertebrates project.
