About the event

Join us for an enchanting afternoon of oral storytelling to mark the Autumn Equinox. This special performance features two acclaimed Dartmoor-based storytellers who will weave together local community tales, gathered from the historic Widecombe Fair, with ancient folklore and the mysterious, nocturnal lives of Pine Martens and the forests they inhabit.Through these woven narratives, we will explore our deep connection to the land and what it means to coexist with species returning to our moorlands.

Ethan is a Devon-based artist and writer whose practice draws upon environmental issues, folklore and the esoteric. He is particularly inspired and frequently haunted by the eldritch tales of Dartmoor, his local stomping ground. Ethan is currently working on an illustrated book about the moor’s folklore, a companion piece to the previously published Dartmoor Folklore map.

Lisa is a storyteller, author and folklorist living on the wild edge of Dartmoor in Devon. She uses storytelling to explore our relationship with nature and folklore. You'll find her telling stories at events and venues across the UK, from schools and boardrooms to nature reserves and festivals. Lisa uses storytelling to inspire, provoke curiosity and build stronger connections between people and nature.

The event starts at 5pm but doors are open from 4.30pm. There will also be an interval during the event.
