Joshua Day
Vegetative grass identification workshop - identify grasses when they are not in flower
Event details
About the event
After attending this workshop you will be able to impress your friends and family by identifying grasses when not in flower! We will focus on the 10-15 most common grasses. You will learn to recognise the key features of vegetative grasses, and we also cover the habitats that these grasses live in and the conditions that they prefer. If you have a hand lens or magnifying glass please do bring it along (plus any others that you are willing to share) as being able to look at the samples up close is an important element of the workshop.
Hannah Gibbons has been working as an Ecologist in the south west for over 20 years. Much of her career has focussed on habitat and botanical surveying and she has been running plant identification training courses for over 10 years. Hannah has worked for a number of conservation charities (including National Trust, Devon Wildlife Trust and RSPB) but has recently set up Teylu Ecology with her brother.
Doors open at 7pm and the talk starts at 7.30pm sharp. No booking needed.
