Tree Identification guided walk, understanding our changing woodlands (Blackdown Hills)
About the event
Join us at Wych Lodge for this woodland excursion during which we will cover some tree identification and discuss some of the challenges facing woodland managers, including those caused by climate change. The event will be led by Jon Burgess, Forestry Commission Woodland Resilience Officer. The event will be pitched at a general level for interested members of the public.
Wych Lodge boasts some of Somerset’s most stunning ancient oak trees and the woodland will will be looking splendid in September, there for us to explore and admire.
This session is part of the summer events series by Saving Devon's Treescapes, a project led by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of the Devon Ash Dieback Resilience Forum, and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
We hope participants will want to help us record some of Devon's notable trees after attending this event, through our Treescapes app https://devontreescapes.com/treescapes.
