Surveying for heath lobelia at Andrew's Wood nature reserve

What the task involves:

Throughout the year, at 10am on the second Thursday of every month, we undertake a range of tasks from scrub clearance to coppicing.

Skills and abilities:

You don’t need to know much about conservation as trained staff and volunteers will be on hand to teach you the skills you need.  You are encouraged to work at your own pace, to take rests when you need them, and therefore you do not need to start with a high level of fitness.

Please wear suitable clothes (appropriate to weather, ones you don’t mind getting damaged) and footwear (stout – steel toe-capped boots are best, or wellies or walking boots).  Bring a drink and lunch if staying the day. You are welcome to come along and just “have a go”.

When and how often:

Every second Thursday of the month.

Meeting place and time will be given when you have booked in for the task.
