About the event

Our safaris start with an explanatory talk, then, as dusk settles, we set off to find bats.

We provide bat detectors to support our group to notice, identify and listen to bats and we guide you to the right spots to stop and watch bats feeding.

We will stroll through Parke Estate to the bridge over the River Bovey before returning to the car park.

Bovey Bat Group members are all Devon Wildlife Trust volunteers – we are not bat experts but enthusiasts keen to share our knowledge and admiration for these fascinating creatures.

When booking please donate to DWT if you are able to – usual donation is £5 pp (children under 16 free).

This event is organised by the Bovey Bat Group, part of DWT Bovey Tracey Local Group.

Mobility

The terrain is uneven so make sure to wear supportive footwear. The paths may be muddy after rain. The hill back up to car park is quite steep.

There will not be much walking, but a lot of standing, watching & listening. Please bring a portable/folding chair/stool if this would make things more comfortable for you, but please be aware of uneven surfaces before sitting down!
