About the event

Swanpool Marsh is a three hectare reserve important for its range of wetland habitats. The great Pond-sedge and reed that covers much of the reserve is a rare habitat across the South West. Dragonflies such as Migrant Hawkers and butterflies can be found there with a range of wetland plants such as Ragged Robin , Purple Loosestrife and Marsh Cinquefoil. Birds such as Sedge Warbler also visit.

The winter months are a good time to manage the reserve for the wildlife and plants there. The work parties usually involve a range of tasks with DWT staff present to advise and support.
