Explore Emsworthy Mire - A Guided Wildlife Walk
About the event
Join expert botanist Phil Sansum, from Devon Biodiversity Records Centre, for an insightful guided walk around Emsworthy Mire—a stunning Devon Wildlife Trust reserve nestled in the heart of East Dartmoor.
Discover the diverse mosaic of moors, tors, mires, heaths, grasslands, and woodlands that make up this special landscape. Learn firsthand about the rare and threatened species that find refuge here and explore how the East Dartmoor Landscape Recovery Scheme is uniting local farmers, landowners, and conservationists to enhance these vital habitats at landscape scale.
Meet at 9:45am at Saddle Tor South car park (this is the second car park when coming from Bovey Tracey). Attendees can park in either but the walk will meet in the south car park. The group will leave promptly at 10AM.
