About the event
Participants will enjoy an expert-guided tour of the farm, led by staff from the Langaford Trust and Butterfly Conservation Officers.
Expect a rich variety of flora, fauna, and fascinating archaeological features. There will also be a chance to explore the contents of a mercury vapour moth trap set the night before.
This tour is organised by Devon Moth Group and Members of the Bovey Tracey Local Group. The meeting point is in the buildings at the bottom of the field.
Visitors are asked to donate £10 per person towards the running of Langaford Trust, this will be requested on the day.
Established in 2002, the Trust conserves a 100-acre farm on the north-eastern edge of Dartmoor, near Lettaford. The site includes a rich mosaic of pasture, woodland, and wetland, shaped by ancient field boundaries.
Langaford is especially known for its conservation of the Marsh Fritillary butterfly and is home to a wide variety of plants, birds, and insects.
