About the event
As part of our Saving Devon’s Treescapes project we are offering the opportunity for Devon based 18-25 year olds to participate in a free extended photography workshop with artist-photographer Robert Darch.
Robert has been commissioned by the Saving Devon’s Treescapes project to document Ash Dieback in Devon since 2020. His work forms part of the Ash Archive - Devon’s emotional and artistic response to Ash Dieback.
The photographs you take as part of this workshop, will be included in the Ash Archive for future generations.
The sessions with Robert will be conducted both online and on location at Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserves. During the sessions, Robert will mentor you on your photography, offering advice and guidance on how best to photograph the landscape.
This will be the first of the workshops, hosted online via Zoom. Robert will talk about his work, the Saving Devon's Treescapes project and how the workshops will run.
Extended Workshop outline:
- First session online - meet Robert and learn about the workshops
- Monthly online sessions to support participants - maximum of 4 sessions
- Two site visits with SDT and Rob - dates and location tbc
*To participate you must be based in Devon and aged between 18-25 years old.
This event is organised by Saving Devon's Treescapes, a project led by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of the Devon Ash Dieback Resilience Forum. Saving Devon’s Treescapes is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, this project aims to strengthen Devon's treescapes in the face of ash dieback disease. The project is working with Devon's communities, landowners and businesses to plant and nurture 250,000 trees outside of woodlands across Devon.
This project is also generously funded by One Tree Planted and other funders.
