About the event

Bovey Tracey Town Council, in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust, is giving away free trees to plant in your garden. This is part of DWT's 'Saving Devon's Treescapes' project (run on behalf of the Devon Ash Dieback Resilience Forum).

Devon's treescapes are under threat from ash dieback, which is predicted to kill 90% of Devon's ash trees in the coming years. But....we can all help, by planting a tree - every extra tree planted will also take a bit more carbon out of the atmosphere and help tackle the climate emergency.

The Council is also giving away packs of wildflower seeds. Wildflower areas provide sanctuaries for pollinating insects which are crucial to the food we grow. Pollinators are currently in significant decline. By creating corridors of wildflowers from garden to garden, we can help to give bees and other pollinators a boost.

Free planting guides are also available for both the trees and wildflower seeds.
