Pine marten project celebrates arrival of first young
Pine marten kits caught on camera
The Two Moors Pine Marten Project celebrates arrival of first young! Exclusive footage shows first pine marten kits born to animals reintroduced in Devon by pioneering project.
This moment marks the result of months of dedicated work by the project partnership and local volunteers.
With this first successful breeding, experts hope to see the population grow slowly but steadily. Pine martens are elusive, nocturnal, and live at low densities - so sightings will remain rare. Their return contributes to healthier, more balanced woodland ecosystems.
Protecting wildlife for the future
Established sixty years ago by a small group of volunteers, Devon Wildlife Trust is the only charity that exists to protect all wildlife in Devon and to safeguard Devon’s unique natural environment.
