Handy Person

To assist with a variety of practical maintenance tasks at Cricklepit Mill. This will be “DIY” type jobs that will help us keep this beautiful listed building looking its best for all of our visitors to enjoy.

The role:

Would you like to get involved with the maintenance of our beautiful visitors centre in the heart of Exeter? We are looking for a practical minded person to help out with odd jobs and help our listed Mill building look it's best!

The task will involve a range of routine practical maintenance jobs such as:
• Painting
• Cleaning cars
• Weeding
• Separating recycling and waste

Skills needed:

• Good level of physical fitness – the role is an active one that will require the volunteer to be on their feet for long periods of time and carry out some manual handling. When cleaning cars and vehicles the volunteer may be required to get in and out of the vehicle regularly
• Good practical DIY type skills
• The ability to work to risk assessments and under all DWT’s Health & Safety requirements
• The ability to drive would be a bonus

Where and when:

Initially Crickelpit Mill but depending on where the Volunteer lives / if they can drive, then Woodah Farm may also be a possibility.

It is hoped that the successful volunteer will be able to help out one day a week minimum one a day that suits the volunteer (Monday to Friday).
