Programme Information Day - Thursday 19 April
Attend this event to find out what projects DWT plans to do for the coming year. Each year, DWT staff present to one another their work for the coming year. The idea is to ensure everyone knows what’s going on and to promote co-operative working. DWT volunteers are invited to this event. Unfortunately, due to space, places are strictly limited so booking is essential with Dawn Lenn by email dlenn@devonwildlifetrust.org or 01392 279244.
Volunteers’ Forum
The next Volunteers’ Forum will be in early summer and feature a chance for volunteers to meet DWT’s new CEO, Harry Barton. Invitations will be sent to all registered volunteers shortly.
Olympic Torch bearer
DWT Wildlife Watch Volunteer, Danielle Smith, has been nominated to be an Olympic Torch bearer because of her inspirational work organising last year’s hugely successful BioBlitz event at DWT’s Bystock nature reserve. DWT are really excited that she has been selected. She will be running the Lynton stretch on 21 May, please come and cheer her on! DWT hopes to tell you all about her experiences in the next issue of Network News.
Volunteers, we need your voice
Help DWT achieve the Investing in Volunteers Award. Tell DWT what you think about volunteering for the charity. This award is a mark of recognition of a high standard of management and support for volunteers which DWT has been working towards. DWT wants to make sure it is providing the best possible service for its volunteers. In the summer, DWT will have its Assessment Days for the Award when an independent assessor will be talking to volunteers about their experience of how well they have been recruited, inducted, trained, supported, and recognised. DWT would be really grateful if volunteers would be happy to get involved and talk to the assessor. In the meantime, please tell us about your experiences of volunteering for DWT and fill in the DWT Volunteer Survey:
