Langage Farm ice cream competition winner announced

Added: 8th September 2010

Langage Farm and Devon Wildlife Trust this summer offered one lucky winner the chance to create a new flavour of ice cream with a wildlife theme. The winner was five year old Mathew Gee from Yelverton. Last month he, along with his family, visited Langage Farm, near Lee Mill in south Devon and saw his special ice cream being made. He then took home a year’s supply!

Entrants had to devise a name for a wildlife ice cream and list the ingredients it would contain. Mathew came up with 'Bumble Fumble', a combination of vanilla and chocolate swirled together with honey.

Mathew's dad Phil said: "Matthew took a tub of Bumble Fumble along to share with his class at school.  It went down very well and will be hard to top as a 'show and tell'! We all really enjoyed the day, and are really enjoying the ice cream, too."
