Wild Family Fun at Mincinglake

Wild Family Fun at Mincinglake

Devon Wildlife Trust are inviting families to go wild together every Thursday in August at Exeter’s own Mincinglake Valley Park.

Each week will feature a different nature-themed activity and will inspire families to discover the wildlife that makes a home in this city park.

The free activities will be taking place every Thursday from 10.30am till 12.30pm, with exception of the last Thursday, 25th August, where it will be from 10:30am till 15:30pm for our finale, a wildlife festival day. For each event drop in anytime there is no need to book.

Thanks to support from Players of People’s Postcode Lottery, Devon Wildlife Trust have been able to offer these wild events for free, as part of their ongoing work to get children out enjoying and learning about nature in the city, though donations are always welcome.

Devon Wildlife Trust’s Emily Bacon, who runs the People’s Postcode Project in Exeter, said:

“There are different activities each week from learning about birds and how to use binoculars to bug hunting. On the 25th August we will be celebrating 60 years of Devon Wildlife Trust with a bigger family festival event, join us for the day with more wildlife activities to choose from including more bug hunting, natural crafts and a self-led trail. The activities each week will be aimed at all ages, so bring the whole family along and enjoy family time together outdoors”.

The events will be taking place near Sylvania Community Hall, off Stoke Hill road. Visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle on the day, though some parking will be available.
