GREAT WEST RUN FOR WILDLIFE

Devon Wildlife Trust are looking forward to this year’s Great West Run safe in the knowledge that two of its corporate supporters will be in the running to raise hundreds of pounds for Devon’s wildlife and for the cancer charity Force.

Dave Spooner of EDF Energy and Viv Townsend of Jumbo Design Solutions will both be taking part in this year’s Great West Run half marathon being held on Sunday 6 May and have set up a website for people to sponsor and donate – www.trusttheforce.co.uk. They have already raised £800 to be split equally between the two charities.

DWT’s Corporate Relations Officer, Tracy Ebbrell said: ‘I am delighted that our corporate supporters are going the extra mile to aid us in our vital work around the county. I shall be cheering them both on throughout the race.’

Viv Townsend of Jumbo Design Solutions said: “We’re really looking forward to the big day when hopefully we can raise much needed funds for both of our chosen charities. Both causes are close to our hearts and both supply extremely important services for communities throughout Devon.”

DWT now has over 80 businesses supporting its work through a range of other activities. EDF Energy also carry out wildlife challenges on DWT’s nature reserves giving members of their staff a chance to get active and close to nature.

It’s great that Dave is raising money for DWT and good luck to everyone in the run who is fundraising for worthwhile causes.”
