Events and filming on DWT nature reserves

Devon Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves have been featured world-wide in TV series and feature films, they’ve also been the setting for many cultural and other events. No wonder: the 50+ wild spaces we look after contain some of the UK’s most dramatic scenery and awe-inspiring nature.
If you are thinking of using one of our nature reserves for your event – large or small - for any commercial or charitable activity, then you must contact us first and seek permission.
How to get in touch
Email us to make an enquiry about using one of our nature reserves. Head the email ‘Request to use DWT nature reserve’ and provide the following details:
- The nature reserve(s) are you enquiring about
- A brief description of your activity (including numbers of people likely to attend)
- Times and dates of your activity (we generally require 30 days minimum notice)
- Your name, organisation and contact details (including a mobile number)
- Do you have public liability insurance for your activity?
- Have you conducted a risk assessment for the site?
Will there be a charge for use?
There could be. We consider every request to use one of our nature reserves on its individual circumstances. Our first priority is always to protect the wildlife that our reserves are home to.
As a local charity with limited means, we spend more than £2,000 per day to keep our nature reserves in good condition for people and wildlife. This is the reason we often charge for use of the places we protect.
Remember
Don’t assume because our nature reserves are free to enter and are open to the public that you can use them for commercial or other organised activities without our permission. Contact us first. Thank you.
