Today I called in to drop off some things at Pinhoe Primary School and was shown the incredible results of a brilliant competition they have been running in the school. Each class has a small piece of garden outside the classroom which had slowly overgrown and become a bit messy but look at them now!!!! With the challenge set down by Headteacher Mrs Lane, the staff and students have responded in an amazing variety of ways. I could tell that Mrs Lane was going to have real problems deciding who the winners would be. It only shows what you can do if you put your mind to it. You guys are an inspiration! Let me know who won won’t you! Paul

Hi Paul,
The gardening competition went really well and has brought outdoor learning to the fore in school. The winners were Miss Kevern’s and Miss Gibson’s classes. Joint second were Mrs Palmer’s and Mr Winward’s classes. All for varied reasons!
You were right in that it took us two hours to deliberate and come to a decision. The joint winners have won £25 each and the teachers may have a pet of their choice! (obviously to keep in there classrooms)
That is brilliant! I have to say that there were some impressive displays and the winners were bursting with ideas. Great competition and really changed the look of the gardens. It will be interesting to see the pet choices!!
